Mediterranean coral composition, Sicily, probably Trapani, 17th-18th century

Height x width: 25 x 21 cm. Base diameter: 11 cm. Weight: 520 g
resting on a semi-spherical brass base, decorated with alternating bands of red Mediterranean coral, interspersed with coral motifs that repeat throughout the body of the structure, creating a uniform and harmonious decorative rhythm. The top is crowned with a branch of natural coral. This piece is representative of Sicilian decorative tradition, in which craftsmanship and the richness of natural materials combine to create objects of great elegance destined for collections and cabinets of curiosities.
