English Georgian sterling silver salver, London, 1735-1736

Height x diameter: 50 x 5.5 cm. Weight: 3600 g
octagonal in shape with scalloped edges, richly decorated with scrolls and shells. It rests on four lion's paw feet. The central surface of the tray is entirely covered with dense, detailed engravings of floral motifs and arabesques, with a heraldic shield in the center. 

Sterling silver 925/1000, fully hallmarked London 1735-1736, silversmith Edward Vincent.
