"Black Madonna" - Polychrome ceramic pomp plate
diameter 52 x 7 cm
With a wide brim, short flounce, and wide base. The rim of the plate has a slightly raised lip, the back has a ring-shaped support, and a lowered base. Decorated on a midnight blue background with raised enamel. Stylized whale figures on the brim and a Virgin and Child in the background. On the back, in underglaze blue, the Istituto d'Arte Faenza and the serial number 905 correspond to the maker and the years 1954/55.
State of preservation: good.
