Art Nouveau side table, France, 20th century
Height x width x depth: 77 x 71 x 71 cm
Made of walnut and fruitwood, this square-shaped piece is decorated and inlaid with naturalistic leaf motifs; the band beneath the top is adorned with a radiating floral composition, and the apron features a contoured design with undulating edges. The construction and quality of the inlay are reminiscent of the work of the Nancy school and the designs of Louis Majorelle (1859–1926).
