Pair of Bilston enamel candlesticks, England, late 18th century
Height x diameter: 25 x 13 cm
Enameled metal, originating from the South Staffordshire region. Enamel on copper with a white background, a lobed domed base, and baluster stems decorated with cobalt blue reserves enclosing delicate gilded flowers in relief. The candelabra feature removable drip plates at the top with scalloped edges, consistent with the Georgian style of the period.
