A replica of the famous neoclassical sculpture commissioned from Canova by Prince Camillo Borghese for his wife, Paolina Bonaparte. The princess is depicted as a victorious Venus, reclining on an agrippina with her upper body raised and resting on two cushions. In her left hand she holds the pomegranate, a symbol of victorious beauty in the Judgment of Paris.
