signed by Jacob Petit (1797-1868), a well-known Parisian ceramist. Petit joined the Manufacture de Sèvres in 1822 after studying drawing as an autodidact and working with Antoine Jaen Gros. Passionate about the decorative arts, Petit published a collection of interior decorations that was very successful. His artistic production mainly comprises decorative objects with bright colours and an eclectic taste combining decorative repertoires from different epochs and geographical areas.
