Bust of the Virgin, Early 19th century
Height x width x depth: 21 x 20 x 10 cm
in a pose of contemplation and prayer. The figure, with half-closed eyes and a faint smile, lends the work an aura of serenity. The veil falls in soft, natural folds, framing the face and resting on the shoulders. The dress features a square neckline decorated with engraved motifs. The work rests on an octagonal base of veined marble that enhances its stability.
Signed “Aurili” on the back.
