This Tiffany & Co. necklace, designed by Elsa Peretti, features the iconic mesh chain paired with a green jade pendant and represents a particularly rare example within the production.
The “Touchstone” pendant takes the form of a plaque carved from nephrite jade, conceived to invite tactile interaction. Its gently curved profile and exceptionally smooth, polished surface encourage handling, in keeping with its original intention as an object suited to meditation and yoga practices.
The pendant exemplifies Peretti’s signature aesthetic, defined by fluidity and essential, organic lines that evoke a sculptural presence. The design is widely regarded as a tribute to Jean Arp, whose biomorphic forms resonate in its soft, natural contours.
The pierced bail, in 18-karat gold, allows the pendant to be worn as a sliding element on an appropriate chain, enhancing its versatility and wearable elegance.
