Daphne. Abraham Jamnitzer, from the 17th-century original. Patinated bronze and Sciacca coral. Accompanied by a CITES certificate.

This highly original invention represents Daphne transforming into a tree to escape the flattery of Apollo.

The original masterpiece by the great Renaissance goldsmith Jamnitzer is housed in the Grunes Gewolbe in Dresden and depicts a full-length Daphne in gilded silver, her arms transforming into coral branches: it is clearly an extraordinary invention of the highest goldsmith's skill. Another version by Wantzel Jamnitzer is housed in the National Museum of the Renaissance in Ecouen.

Our replica is made of patinated bronze and is a half-length statue.
It can't even be considered a slavish copy, as the subject is created following the dynamics of bronze, not Argentina. It appears simplified and very textured.

From the patina and the quality of the material, it appears to be of ancient workmanship, probably dating back to the 17th century.

A truly rare bronze, never seen on the market, as far as we know.

In the pictures the original in gilded silver and coral.
