Pair of historiated candlesticks. Padua or Venice, 16th-17th century. Translucent black and brown patina.
17.5 x 15.5 x 15.5 cm
A beautiful pair of table candlesticks decorated with typical Renaissance iconography. A large circular base, decorated with masks linked by phytomorphic scrolls, supports a bobege supported by a baluster vase adorned with acanthus leaves and dragon scales. The stem and base are made separately and joined with an internal pin.
