Refined ornamental object composed of a natural marine shell, probably belonging to the family Terebridae and tentatively attributable to the genus Terebra spp., entirely enclosed within a custom-made silver mount.
The silver mount follows the natural contours of the shell with remarkable precision, faithfully reproducing its fusiform profile, numerous regular whorls, and terminal aperture, while leaving the naturally nacreous interior partially visible.
Finished with a high polish, the silver adheres perfectly to the shell's exterior surface, enhancing its elegant spiral form without altering its natural balance. The contrast between the precious metal and the shell's luminous interior creates a refined decorative effect, recalling the historic tradition of shells mounted in precious metal, here reinterpreted according to the distinctive stylistic language of Buccellati.
