Italian solid silver cruet set, mid-20th Century

Height x width x depth: 25 x 19 x 12 cm. Weight of silver: 583 g. Total weight: 1525 g
four bottle cruet on a solid silver base. The base is oval in shape with a high, finely openwork rim featuring a lattice pattern and a top edge decorated with leaf motifs. It rests on four lion-shaped feet. At the centre stands a column with a moulded ring handle for gripping. It features an internal structure with rings and supports to securely hold the bottles and containers: two flasks for oil and vinegar in cut and fluted glass, and two matching central jars in cut glass, one of which is fitted with a hinged silver lid with a knob and a small spoon.
