An antique “Khaden” with lotus flower designs, Tibet, 1900 c.

The antique “Khaden” has a thick woolen pile, typical for the wool of the tibetan highlands and displays a classical design called “pema chuni” or twelfe lotuses. The intricated foral motif with large lotus flowers decorates the dark blue background. A nice detail is the small meander pattern surrounding the field. Wool warp and weft.
Well preserved.
