The LEGO Group

Fan designer Brent Waller’s love of Ghostbusters became an official LEGO set after his project reached 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO, the predecessor to LEGO Ideas. Released to celebrate the original film’s 30th anniversary, this 440-piece model includes all four Ghostbusters as minifigures alongside their unmistakable Ecto-1.

Its converted ambulance silhouette, rooftop equipment and ghost-catching gear recreate one of cinema’s most recognisable vehicles. Waller’s proposal was developed into the finished set by LEGO designer Marcos Bessa—a collaboration that captures the appeal of Ideas: a fan’s enthusiasm becoming something others can build. Now retired, it combines Ghostbusters nostalgia with a place in the early history of LEGO Ideas.
