Beneath its olive-green bodywork, this 2,573-piece Defender packs an impressive mechanical build: all-wheel drive with three differentials, independent suspension, a working winch and a six-cylinder engine with moving pistons. Developed with Land Rover, it captures the modern Defender’s rugged character and expedition-ready appearance.

At launch, LEGO described its transmission as the most sophisticated Technic gearbox yet, combining four sequential speeds with high and low ratios. Folding the rear seats reveals the mechanism, making the engineering part of the display. Now retired, this set offers Land Rover enthusiasts and Technic collectors a rewarding combination of recognisable design and mechanical complexity.
