Space exploration also needs something to drive after landing. This compact Classic Space vehicle, containing 22 pieces and 1 minifigure, brings that everyday practicality to the imagined planetary landscapes of 1983.

Its modest size recalls how small supplementary vehicles helped turn separate spacecraft and bases into a connected world: an astronaut could leave the ship and continue exploring on the ground. Now more than four decades old and long retired, Surface Transport offers a small but distinctive piece of early LEGO Space history. This complete example is an appealing addition for collectors rebuilding a period layout or rediscovering the smaller sets that accompanied its flagship spacecraft.
