Black-and-white stripes give Batman an unexpected appearance in this minifigure inspired by Detective Comics #275. The comic sees the Dark Knight transformed into Zebra Batman during an encounter with Zebra-Man, making this distinctive costume a reference to one of the character’s more unusual adventures.

Released through a giveaway at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, the figure brings an obscure comic-book incarnation into LEGO’s convention-exclusive range. Its appeal lies in that combination: an instantly recognisable hero, an unconventional design and a release outside the ordinary retail assortment. For a Batman or specialist DC minifigure collection, it offers a striking reminder of the imaginative transformations found throughout the character’s history.
