Woodpecker, Tuscany, probably 17th century
Bronze black-greenish patina
This door knocker was created to decorate the external doors. At the center it presents Medici coat of arms supported by a pair of cherubs. Many copies can be found up to the 19th century, however the material quality and patina suggests it is an ancient version, probably from the 17th century.
