Rare pair of Chinese design furniture with classic decorations from imperial China with numerous symbols of Maoist iconography inserted. The two red guards sitting in the pagoda holding the little red book in their hands surrounded by the red rays of the sun that "illuminate the people", industrial progress represented with the cars and buses launched on the bridges and the steamship in the water. Mao Zedong's political campaign of this era aimed to transform the ‘old culture’ in order to establish the new one. This had a strong impact on the production of art objects, as in this case on furniture.
