Hand fan, Europe, prob. France late 19th century

Weight: 1410 g
dating to the Belle Époque period, distinguished by its refined elegance and meticulous decoration. It is crafted with finely carved bone sticks featuring floral motifs and gilded details, while the guards are adorned with engraved vegetal patterns. The fan also includes a fabric leaf, likely hand-painted, decorated with polychrome floral designs in a Neo-Rococo style—rich and symmetrical, featuring small central bouquets, decorative panels, crescent shapes, and garlands. The composition is further embellished with metallic sequins, glitter, and gold leaf accents, creating shimmering effects intended for theatrical or social settings. The fan is preserved within a blue velvet-covered frame.
