in ebonised wood, front and lid richly inlaid with tortoiseshell, brass and mother-of-pearl.

On the lock is the signature ‘Piver 9 boulevard Poissonnière’.
This lot is accompanied by an expertise issued by Ce.S.Ar Centro studi archeometici.
Literature:
LT Piver is a French perfume house whose origins date back to 1774. Its history marks the modern evolution of perfumery .
At the end of the 1860s , and according to an article published in 1867 in Le Monde Illustré , LT Piver owned, at that time, five retail stores in Paris at the following addresses: 23 boulevard des Italiens , 29 place de la Bourse , 44 rue de la Chaussée d'Antin , 28 place Vendôme and 9 boulevard Poissonnière
