Battisti, Lucio - Lotto di circa 20 lettere private, 1960s

A small batch of about twenty original, handwritten and signed letters from Lucio Battisti, addressed to his mother.
Lucio was traveling through Italy, and he recounts his days to his mother: from when he drinks coffee, to where he sleeps and how much he spends on room rent, about his evenings playing with his band, his meetings with impresarios, his earnings, adding reflections and hopes for the future.

An untold Lucio Battisti, very young and in his early days as a musician, but already on the road performing at gigs and concerts, and with several objective feedback from the people he frequents and from the audience.

Some of the letters retain their original envelopes. All are signed by Lucio, many with the final "O" resembling a human face, which is none other than the expression of the Lucio we know, a sort of "logo" that in some ways anticipates today's emoticons.

In one of the letters, Lucio also draws a classical guitar, which exactly matches the style of the guitar currently featured in one of the lots in this auction.

Early 1960s. For inspection.
Owned by Lucio Battisti (Poggio Bustone, March 5, 1943 โ€“ Milan, September 9, 1998).
An interesting excerpt from the singer-songwriter's private life.

A handwriting appraisal exists for the autographed material, and a copy relating to the lots up for sale will be provided to the successful bidder of this lot.
