The bronze weighs approximately 3 kg and is approximately 40 cm tall.

A giant-sized statue of the same subject, approximately 4 meters tall, stands at the entrance to the Carabinieri Marshals and Brigadier School in Florence.

The small bronzes were created using the lost-wax method at the Mariani Foundry in Pietrasanta (LU).

Signed at the base ANGELO SAVARESE followed by the foundry logo.

Only four were produced, and on the occasion of the inauguration of the giant statue at the aforementioned school, two were presented to the Carabinieri leadership. Therefore, one remains in a private collection, and this one is being offered in our auction.

The Faithful Angel, a sculptural work dedicated to the figure of the Marshal of the Carabinieri, created by artist Angelo Savarese, is inspired by the avant-garde metaphysical movement of the 20th century.

The work's two-dimensional spatiality and the contours created with light, confident lines induce the viewer to perceive a deliberately illusory three-dimensional plasticity in the sculpture, a reflection of the versatility of a force always engaged on multiple fronts. Solitary and orderly, the figure is anchored to a base, indicating the enduring solidity of the roots of an institution dedicated to the guardian of legality throughout the "Faithful Centuries." On the saber, held in the so-called "rest" position but always ready for rapid use, is one of the Carabinieri's recognizable symbols: the flame grenade. Specially positioned at the center of the sculpture, it is interpreted by the artist as a source of light illuminating the Marshal's path. The "faceless face" is intended to highlight individual differences, evoking the social responsibility of the women and men of the Carabinieri, called to safeguard the precious gift of freedom.

A "Faithful Angel," the one everyone would always like to have by their side, and who, within the Marshals and Brigadier School, named after a servant of the state who was a victim of terrorism, Marshal Felice Maritano, recipient of the Gold Medal for Military Valor and Civil Valor "in memoriam," has become a symbol, in his figure, of human, professional, and identity growth, suggesting a spiritual dimension that can be connected to all of us.
