He is skilled at combining bright colors in scenes depicting the traditional daily life of that village. His specific characteristic is the absence of anatomical details on the faces. He has exhibited in many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco (1964), the National Museum of Singapore (1970), the Singapore Art Museum (1994), and the Museum Nasional in Jakarta (1995).
