Height x width x depth: 25 x 10 x 10 cm. Weight: 815 g
depicting a dolphin, resting on a square base decorated with foliage motifs. The work, eclectic and decorative in style, is part of the tradition of 19th-century European mounts that enhanced natural materials such as shells, corals and ivory through artistic mountings. This object combines Baroque influences and a Neo-Renaissance revival style, typical of the cabinets of curiosities and decorative collections of the period.
