107
Pair of pen nibs, England or France, late 19th century
Weight: 33 g
The first features a floral engraving. It has a terminal ring, indicating that it was intended for a chatelaine (a belt chain for accessories) or a pocket watch chain.
The second is a mechanical pencil with a perpetual calendar and seal. The octagonal section shows the days of the month (1-31). By turning the upper rings, the days of the week (M-T-W-Th-F-S-Sun) could be aligned with the current dates. The decorated end serves as a sealing wax stamp.
Height x diameter I: 9 x 0.8 cm;
Height x diameter II: 11 x 1 cm.
