Romani & Bertolami Fine Auction
On Friday, March 27, the halls of Palazzo Caetani Lovatelli will host the second auction of fine wines and spirits curated by Romani & Bertolami Fine Auction, the joint venture established between G&R Wine Auction Hong Kong and Bertolami Fine Art Roma for the organisation of international wine auctions.
The title chosen for the sale, The Collector Sale, alludes to its primary distinction: that of being comprised exclusively of wines from select private collections. The bottles offered for sale are the expression of the taste and expertise of true enthusiasts, connoisseurs who have consistently stored them in natural cellars, which have proven to be the ideal habitat for perfect ageing.
In light of the above, the less-than-optimal conditions of some of the older labels clearly indicate prolonged storage in high-humidity cellars. This storage method ensures the corks' excellent elasticity and, therefore, their seal. This results in an extraordinary level of preservation, even for the oldest vintages, as our experts personally verified during the tasting process that accompanies the cataloguing process.
Anyone who accesses the digital catalogue published on the website www.bertolamifineart.com will discover, in the extensive section dedicated to Italian wines, a substantial presence of Tuscan wines and a selection of interesting wines from Lazio, a detail that reveals the central Italian origins of the collections offered for sale. However, lovers of Barolo, Barbaresco, and French Grand Crus need not worry, as the refined taste of our suppliers has led them to a wide range of choices. The catalogue also features excellent wines from Burgundy and Bordeaux, such as Vosne Romanée: Cros Parantoux Henri Jayer 1985 and Romanée-Conti DRC 2005, as well as Chateau Margaux 1999.

Information and reservations:
Recognising that wine enthusiasts are not collectors of objects but of sensory experiences, we have always placed tasting at the heart of our sales approach. During our auctions, we offer the public the opportunity to taste, free of charge, many of the wines up for auction. During the period between the publication of the online catalogue and the live auction, we organise a more comprehensive tasting to introduce the auction.
The pleasant Tuscan accent of our Collector Sale led us this year to think, with our friends at the historic Enoteca Buccone in Rome, of a pre-auction event that would be an opportunity to discover the longevity qualities of central Italy's most iconic grape variety, Sangiovese.
The appetisers offered by Enoteca Buccone will complement the tasting of Sangiovese excellences such as:
Tignanello , 1985
Brunello di Montalcino Capanna , 1997
And among the Chianti:
San Giusto a Rentennano 2000 , Castello di San Polo 1997 and Vigneto la Casuccia Castello di Ama 1987
We're waiting for you!
