In the case of:

a single pre-auction bid on a lot

and in the absence of bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded at the auction base even if the only bid received is higher (the amount of the pre-auction bid indicates in fact the maximum bid that the bidder is willing to make)

Example: Base bid € 1,000 - Single pre-auction bid € 1,500 - Awarded at € 1,000

multiple pre-auction bids of the same amount on the same lot

and in the absence of re-bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded to the pre-bidder

multiple pre-auction bids of different amounts on the same lot

and in the absence of bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded to the author of the highest bid at an allotment price calculated by adding to the amount of the next lowest bid a predetermined increase in the table published below (Table A)

Example: customer A bid €1,270, customer B bid €1,800. Customer B wins not at the winning price of €1,800 but at €1,370. That is the automatic increase of € 100 provided for in the table is applied to the amount of the immediately lower bid when bids are in the € 1,000-1,999 bracket.

The delivery of lots outside the Italian borders may be subject to the rules established by the Code of Cultural Heritage (Legislative Decree 42/2004 and subsequent amendments and additions) on the export of goods of cultural interest. Therefore, in the event that the purchased good presents characteristics such as to require any form of ministerial authorisation for its definitive exit from the territory of the Italian Republic, the time required to issue such authorisation will be regulated by the Export of Antiquities and Art Objects Office of the Ministry of Culture.
These release times are calculated on average in the order of 60 to 90 days from the day the file is opened for a Attestato di Libera Circolazione (art. 68 of the Codice dei Beni Culturali) and 30 days for a Self-certification. The auction house declines all responsibility for any delays in closing the file, delays that can only be attributed to the competent ministerial authorities. The file is only opened once the payment for the goods has been made and the buyer has given his explicit authorisation.
