The auction will take place entirely online, starting from the publication date of the online catalogue on the website www.bertolamifineart.com and concluding on Thursday, 6 November 2025.
1. How to participate
The auction is conducted exclusively online and is accessible only to users who have registered through our website: www.bertolamifineart.com
The registration process requires users to upload valid identification documents as specified by the platform. Registration is considered complete only upon receipt of a confirmation email from the auction house.
Assistance
Should you encounter any difficulties completing your registration or if you do not receive the confirmation email, please contact us at:
The auction will commence upon publication of the online catalogue and will end on Thursday, 6 November, with a specific end time for each lot, clearly displayed and monitored by a countdown timer on each lot page.
Lots are scheduled to close consecutively, at set intervals, in order to allow users to bid on several lots throughout the auction. Specifically, on the final day of the sale, each lot will close at two-minute intervals.
Should a higher bid be placed shortly before a lot's scheduled closing time, the closing will be automatically extended by a further two minutes, thus allowing further bids to be submitted. This system ensures that the lot is not awarded until all active bidding has concluded.
Please note: the bidding platform suspends lot closures daily from 00:00 to 08:00 CEST. During this pause, however, bids may still be placed.
3. Electronic Auctioneer and Real-Time Bidding Updates
From the online publication of the catalogue until the end of the auction, the electronic auctioneer remains active 24/7. This system is supported by real-time notifications that keep users informed of bidding activity. All bidders will receive email notifications confirming the submission of their bids, as well as alerts whenever a higher bid is placed by another participant.
4. Maximum Bid
Each lot page provides the possibility for bidders to indicate their maximum bid.
Once a maximum bid has been entered and confirmed, the electronic auctioneer will place incremental bids on the user’s behalf, up to the specified maximum. The user will receive email updates confirming these automatic bids, as well as notifications if their maximum bid is surpassed by another bidder.
Maximum bids are only accepted if they exceed the reserve price. The lot will be awarded to the highest bid received; in the event of identical bids, priority will be given to the earliest received.
Please note: the maximum bid reflects the maximum amount the bidder is willing to pay to secure the lot. In absence of competing bids, the lot will be awarded at the starting price, even if a higher maximum bid has been submitted. Conversely, if other bids are placed but do not exceed the stated maximum, the system will automatically raise the user’s bid as needed, up to their maximum. In this case, the lot will be awarded at the highest bid reached through these automatic increments, in accordance with the established bidding scale (see table below).
Examples:
Starting price €1,000 – Maximum bid €1,500 – No other bids → Lot awarded at €1,000
Starting price €1,000 – Maximum bid €1,500 – Competing bid received → Auctioneer automatically raises bid to €1,100 → Lot awarded at €1,100 if no further bids are made
Bid withdrawal is permitted only upon formal request to the auction house. Any cancellation will automatically generate updated notifications for all affected participants.
