- a single pre-auction bid on a lot
and in the absence of bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded at the auction base even if the only bid received is higher (the amount of the pre-auction bid indicates in fact the maximum bid that the bidder is willing to make)
Example: Base bid € 1,000 - Single pre-auction bid € 1,500 - Awarded at € 1,000
- multiple pre-auction bids of the same amount on the same lot
and in the absence of re-bids during the auction, the lot will be awarded to the pre-bidder

Example: customer A bid €1,270, customer B bid €1,800. Customer B wins not at the winning price of €1,800 but at €1,370. That is the automatic increase of € 100 provided for in the table is applied to the amount of the immediately lower bid when bids are in the € 1,000-1,999 bracket.
